Obituary

BEVERLY - Donald C. Pomroy, 55, of Beverly, husband of Doris (Ouellette) Pomroy, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Mervin D. & Mary J. (Jameson) Pomroy, and attended Beverly Trade School, where he received the Outstanding Achievement Award at his graduation.

He was a contractor in heating air conditioning for over 30 years and in 1981, together with his father and brother, founded Garden City Sheet Metal in Beverly.

He enjoyed travel, especially taking cruises and trips to the islands. He was a member of the Hamilton-Wenham Horseshoe Association, bowled in the Malden Industrial League, and enjoyed golf.

Besides his wife Doris, with whom he shared almost 35 years of marriage, he is survived by 1 son, Mark Pomroy of Danvers, 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Lynda & George Murray of Beverly, Andrea & Erik McCullen of Harper Woods, Michigan, 2 grandchildren, Julia Murray of Beverly, Kayleigh McCullen of Harper Woods, Michigan, one brother, David F. Pomroy of Haverhill, 2 sisters Leslee Gould of Sandown, NH, Mary & her husband James McBride of Ft. Myers, FL and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 5 pm in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Saturday, prior to the service from 2 to 5 pm. For those who desire, donations may be made in his memory to the Hospice of The North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
