Duane C. Farnsworth 50, of Franklin, died Tuesday January 23, 2007 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Paula A. (Bonanno) Farnsworth.
Born in Chelsea, September 23, 1956 a son of Martin D. and Lillian M. (Seale) Farnsworth of Franklin, he formerly Framingham, before moving to Franklin over 17 years ago.
Mr. Farnsworth was educated in Natick schools, and worked as a counselor for many years first at the former Cushing Hospital in Framingham, and then at the former Medfield State Hospital.
His interests included spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, NASCAR, working on cars, music, especially Elvis Presley, Turner Movie Classics and the History Channel.
He was a proud member of the Meridian Lodge AF & AM in Natick, a lodge charted by Paul Revere.
In addition to his wife of 30 years and his parents, he is survived by 2 sons Cory M. Farnsworth of Natick and Anthony V. Farnsworth of Franklin, 2 daughters Christine M. Farnsworth-Atherton and her husband George of Bellingham, and Alicia A. Farnsworth of Franklin, a brother Thomas J. Farnsworth of Leominster, and a sister Karen L. Dansereau of Kansas. Also surviving are his grandchildren Emily and Isabelle Atherton and Joshua Farnsworth, and 11 nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his father and mother in law Leo V. and Alice P. (Whitten) Bonanno of Framingham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday January 27, 2007 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 9AM. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Barber St. Medway.
Calling hours are Friday January 26, 2007 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Meridian Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at the funeral home at 6pm.
