Catherine E. Breen, 90, of Mansfield formerly of West Roxbury died on Tuesday January 23, 2007 at the Epoch of Norton Senior Care Center.
Born in Boston, MA on November 14, 1916 she was a dear daughter of the late Robert J. and Catherine M. (Egan) Breen who both passed away in 1957.
She grew up and was educated in South Boston. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School in South Boston. Miss Breen was a retired Clerk having worked for the MBTA in Boston for 42 years prior to retiring in 1978.
Religion was a very important part of Kay’s life and when able she was a devoted communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club.
A member of the MBTA Pensioners Club Kay also enjoyed traveling, crocheting and especially being in the presence of her loving family. She had lived in Mansfield for the past 21 years and was formerly of West Roxbury for 38 years.
She is survived by her dear brother Robert J. Breen of Braintree as well as her many nieces and nephews and there families. She was the sister of the late Charles J. Breen, Stanley A. Breen, Gladys M. Allen, Marguerite M. Mullen and Doris M. Queenan.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday January 27th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning prior to the funeral mass beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Kay’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
