West Bridgewater - Maurice Brazil, 92, of W. Bridgewater died Jan. 20, 2007, suddenly, at home. He was the husband of the late Ida E. (Giovannini) Brazil.
Born June 5, 1914, in Taunton, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Lilian (Woodard) Brazil.
Mr. Brazil worked for 46 years as a foreman at the Independant Nail Co. in Bridgewater, retiring in 1979.
He also worked as a funeral assistant at the Prophett Funeral Home for many years, as well as other area funeral homes.
Mr. Brazil was a member of the 49ers Club and was a past member of the Bridgewater Lions Club.
He had been a West Bridgewater resident for 66 years, coming from Raynham.
Mr. Brazil is survived by his two sons, David M. Brazil and his wife Ann of Bridgewater and Wayne M. Brazil and his wife Karen of Rochester; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother to the late William and Henry Brazil and Luella Bento.
His funeral will be held at 10:15 am Thursday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am in St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater. Burial will be St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm in the funeral home.
