Obituary

MANCHESTER, NH— Leo P. Clough, 89 years old, a former longtime resident of Lowell, died early Saturday morning, January 20th, at the Villa Crest Nursing Home, in Manchester, NH. He was the husband of the late Louise (Dancause) Clough, who died in 2001.

He was born in Lowell, on December 1, 1917, a son of the late Hector J. and Anna (Comtois) Clough, and was educated in Lowell Public Schools.

Mr. Clough worked for many years as a self-employed painter in the Greater Lowell area. He was an avid golfer and held membership at Vesper Country Club. He also owned and raced harness race horses.

Surviving him are four daughters and three sons-in-law: Evelyn and David Stahmer, of Chandler, AZ; Judith Vallee, of Maine; Susan and Gary Thuillier, of New Boston, NH; and Leona Clough and Collin Lincoln, of Hollis, NH; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; also one niece: Michelle Cassono, of Alaska.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday, January 24th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His funeral service to follow at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery.
