Obituary

MARY W. (SKERRY) MEANS, a resident of Hull for 60 years, died on Saturday, Jan. 20th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 83. Mrs. Means was born in Malden and was a graduate of Malden Girls Catholic High School. She came to Hull from Malden as a teen-ager, first during the summer months, and then as a full time resident. She was an operator for many years with the New England Telephone Co. in Hull. Mrs. Means was an active member and eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Parish and was a member of St. Ann's Sodality both of Hull. In addition, she was a member of the Hull Garden Club and for many years was a volunteer at Wellspring in Hull.

Wife of the late Chief Kervyn E. "Jeff" Means, Hull Fire Dept. (Ret), she was the mother of Richard W. Means of Houston, TX, Robert E. Means of Norwood, Mary K. Means of Bourne and Virginia M. Winnett, Carol A. Morris, William J. Means and Christopher J. Means all of Hull. Sister of Sr. Mary Karina of Wilton, CT. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 24th at 10 AM at St. Ann's Church, corner of Samoset Ave. and Lewis St., Hull.

Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary's Parish Building Fund, 208 Samoset Ave., Hull, MA 02045.

The interment will be in the Hull Village Cemetery.
