Obituary

Salem: Armand R. Blais age 76 of Salem, died Friday, January 19, 2007, at the NSMC Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Davis) Blais, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Irma C. (Tremblay) Blais. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served in North Africa and Cuba. Following his tour of duty, Armand returned to Salem and continued working in the construction industry as a carpenter. He worked out of the Boston Local and for the Local 888 of Salem.
Armand was an avid sports enthusiast, and was a die-hard Patriots and Red Sox fan. He loved playing cards and working on home projects for family and friends. Armand retired in 1979.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: 4 sons: Paul W. Belleau & his wife Anita of St. Mary’s, PA, Michael R. Belleau & his wife Wanda of Salem, David J. Belleau & His wife Doreen of Peabody, Richard A. Blais & his wife Meghan of Salem, 2 daughters: Sandra D. McMahon & her husband Michael of Salem, Donna M. Michaud of Beverly, his sister Anita M. Ingraham of Salem, 13 grandchildren: Katelyn Haven, Daniel, Kristyn, Dylan, Jessica, Jeffrey & Rebecca Belleau, Zachary, Adam & Robert Michaud, April Blais, Ellen Brown and Eric McMahon. Armand is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Robert A. Blais.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by his funeral mass in St. Pius the Fifth Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn at 10:30 am. Visitng hours: Today (Monday) 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Hospital Development Foundation, c/o Cardiac Dept., 81 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970
