Obituary

AMESBURY - Priscilla Anne (Ganey) Rouleau, 83, of Amesbury, formerly of Beverly and Salem, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Masconomet Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased in 1991 by her loving husband Frank Rouleau. They were married for 39 years. They were devoted to each other and he has been in her thoughts and memories for the past 15 years, never forgetting to plant flowers and visit his grave site on Memorial Day.

Born on October 28, 1923 in Providence, RI, to George & Doris (Loring) Ganey, she was the oldest of eight children. She attended Beverly and Wenham schools and was a graduate of Beverly High School.

She worked at Varian and Sylvania in the past. Mrs. Rouleau worked in the nursing department at Salem Hospital for 25 years, the majority spent on 8 West. She was a very caring and compassionate person who helped many people through the years. She was always available to help care for a sick friend or relative. Even after her retirement from Salem Hospital she worked for Associated Home Care in Beverly to help care for patients overnight and on weekends. She did this until the sudden development of macular degeneration causing legal blindness. Even after being given this devastating diagnosis she never felt sorry for herself and made the necessary adjustments to go on with her everyday life. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters. They were the center of her world along with their families. Nothing went on in her life without them.

Mrs. Rouleau is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, C. Dale & Michael Bates of Beverly, Cynthia & Phillip Connolly of Amesbury, Nancy & Michael LaPointe of Salem, 6 grandchildren, Cynthia Bates-Valotto of Hamilton, Gregory Bates of Beverly, Kevin Connolly of Newton, NH, Amanda Connolly of Amesbury, Joi-Ellen Lapointe and Michael LaPointe, both of Salem, 6 great-grandchildren, Michael, Alexander & Matthew Valotto, Joshua & Jonathan Bates, Jordyn LaPointe, 2 brothers, Frank Ganey of Salem, Carol B. Ganey of Hernando, Florida, 3 sisters, Nancy Williams of California, Patricia Montoni of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Judith Vergari of California and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Ganey & Jacqueline Montoni.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
