TEWKSBURY: James Brand, age 77, a resident of Tewksbury for 36 years, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at home.
He was the husband of Margaret I. (Robinson) Brand with whom he celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on October 8th.
Born in the Bronx area of New York City, New York on December 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Basso) Brand.
Mr. Brand was raised in Keyport, New Jersey.
He attended Keyport schools and was graduated from Keyport High School in 1949.
In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Brand served during the Korean Conflict with the 1740 Company D of the 12th Infantry Regiment.
Prior to his honorable discharge from active duty on February 17, 1953, he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal (Germany).
Mr. Brand resided in Keyport, New Jersey until moving to Tewksbury in 1971.
He was employed for over 40 years in the plumbing and heating industry.
Prior to his retirement, he founded and operated Celective Plumbing and Heating of Tewksbury.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Brand, Jr. and his wife Monique of North Fort Myers, FL and Kevin Brand and his wife Lisa of Winchendon; two grandchildren, Jeremy Bran of Naples, FL and Phillip Brand of Winchendon; three great grandchildren, Leah Akin, Tyler and Ethan Brand; three sisters, Emily Reineke of Hobesound, FL, Elaine Fisler and her husband Walter of Clearwater, FL and Betty Keleher of Ocala, FL.
Mr. Brand was the brother of the late Vincent and Walter Brand.
