Gerard H. Demers, 81, died January 20, 2007, at a Laconia health care facility after a period of declining health.
He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, March 26, 1925, and was the son of Pierre and Odila (Berard) Demers.
He was a retired roofer and had worked for Therrien Roofing Co. for many years.
Mr. Demers and his wife loved to play bingo.
He was married to Beatrice (Beaulieu) Demers, who died in 2005. He was also predeceased by a son, Robert Demers in 2006.
Family members include four daughters, Irene Desrochers of Suncook, NH, Lorraine R. Lebel of Lawrence, MA, Diane Carta of Campton, NH, and Anita Ansaldi of Holderness, NH; two sons, Richard Demers of Derry, NH, and Donald Demers of Thornton, NH; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Cantin of Manchester; a brother, George Demers of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday January 24, 2007 at St. Marie Church. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
