WORCESTER__William J. Mazejka, 92, of Worcester, died Thursday, January 18 at Autumn Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 25 Oriol Drive. His wife, Melania (Sobol) Mazejka died in 1979. He is survived by two sons, William J. Mazejka and his wife Linnea and Robert M. Mazejka; a sister, Irene Swan of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Helen Mazejka; four grandchildren, John, Brian, Scott and Tim and seven great-grandchildren, Trevor, Thomas, Stephanie, Jessica, Kimberly, Jackson and Luke and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother James Mazejka. William was born in Worcester, son of John and Bolislawa (Bocz) Mazejka and lived here all his life.
Mr. Mazejka was a headerman at Reed & Prince, Co. for several years before retiring in 1979. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade School in 1933. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and St. Mary’s Booster Club. William enjoyed his grandchildren very much. His pastimes were sitting on his porch and overlooking his garden, as well as listening to polish music and enjoying polish foods.
The funeral will be held on Monday, January 22, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, January 21, from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
