Lillian M. DiPaola, 82 of Stoneham, formerly a long time resident of Malden, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on January 19th, 2007. Lillian was born in Malden on May 24th, 1924 and educated at Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Girls Catholic High School. As a young woman she worked at the National Radio Company and the Borden Ice Cream Company in Malden. During World War II she worked at the Lawson Machine Shop in Malden helping the war effort. She was a homemaker raising 6 children and welcoming 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She has been a life-long parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden and is a proud member of the Middlesex County Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s Association. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur P. DiPaola Sr.; the mother of Kristine A. DiPaola of Houston, TX, Donna L. Ferragamo and her late husband Victor of Wakefield, Arthur P. “Skip” DiPaola Jr. of Malden, Deborah J. Lacey and her husband Thomas of Stoneham, Patricia M. Covelle and her husband Robert of Stoneham and Middlesex County Sheriff James V. DiPaola and his wife Adeline of Malden. She was the sister of Lorraine Donovan of Stoneham and the late Ruth McNeil and Claire Larkin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden on Monday January 22nd at 10:30 AM followed by burial in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-5 PM.
