Kathleen "Kay" Reis, 71, of Marion died January 17, 2007 unexpectedly at Tobey Hospital.
She was the wife of Dr. Richard H. Reis.
Born in Norwood, the daughter of the late Donald J. Patnaude and Anne G. Chadwick, she has resided in Marion since 1964.
Mrs. Reis was formerly employed as a Librarian at Sippican Elementary School and the Marion Town Library.
She attended Brown University and was a graduate of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with highest honors.
Mrs. Reis was a member of League of Women Voters, one of three founding members of V.A.S.E. which is the volunteer program at Sippican School in Marion, Massachusetts State League Director of Education, and in Marion she was a member of Zoning Board of Appeals, Marion School Committee, O.R.R. School Committee including 2 years as Chairwoman, Conservation Commission, Open Space Commission, Growth Management Committee, Tree Planting Committee and Garden Committee.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth Middleton of Marion; a son, Dr. Matthew Reis of Millis; a brother, Gary Chadwick of Cocoa, FL; her mother-in-law, Florence Reis of Westfield, NJ; 3 grandchildren, Tara, Morgan and Sophia; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Bill Chadwick.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th at 11 AM in Wickendon Chapel, Tabor Academy, Marion. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 23rd from 5-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett.
