Paul A. Charnley Sr., 57, of 161 Valley St. died in his residence October 14, 2002. He was born in Lawrence Mass. on July 29, 1945, the son of William and Marjorie (Strong) Charnley.
Raised in Haverhill Mass., he moved to Laconia in 1973. He was employed as a Full Zone Operator by Freudenberg NOK for the past seven years. He had previously been employed by Bergen- Patterson from 1973 to 1985. In addition, he worked for the Titus Construction Company for several years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing on many occasions.
Family members include his wife, Beatrice H. (Gates) Charnley of 34 years of Laconia; two daughters, Penny Charnley of Laconia and Paula Freeman of New Hampton NH; two sons, Paul A. Charnley Jr. and Randy Charnley, both of Laconia; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Marjorie Charnley of Haverhill MA; a sister, Diane Boudreau of Haverhill MA; three brothers, Kenneth Charnley of Rutland VT, Thomas Charnley of Haverhill MA and Richard Charnley of Groveland MA; nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Hope Elisabeth Charnley.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main St., Laconia NH 03246.
