Dennis M. Biggins, 58, formerly of Mystic, CT died unexpectedly at his home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dennis was born in New London CT on November 9, 1948 son ot the late John J. and Clara (Marseilles) Biggins. He was a 1966 graduate of Norwich Technical High School.
Dennis had an associate's degree in electrical engineering from Three Rivers Community College and a 1982 BS degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales College. He served in the Coast Guard from 1966 to 1970. Dennis was an Account Executive with Dyneon LLC (a subsidiary of 3M), specializing in sales of fluoropolymers to the wire and cable industry.
Dennis was a former member of St. Mark's Church where he served as an altar boy for many years. He was also an avid Mystic Little League player who became an even more avid Red Sox fan. He was an enthusiastic golfer with a great sense of humor.
Dennis will be missed by his two sons, Matthew Biggins and his fiancee Melissa Hall of Griswold CT and Todd Biggins and his wife Anne Marie (Valentino) Biggins of Fishkill, NY; two stepchildren, Audrey Taylor and Jeremy Taylor of Clearwater, FL; three grandchildren Kathleen and Amanda Biggins of Oakdale CT and Dylan Biggins of Fishkill, NY as well as two step-grandchildren Harleyann and Arielle Hall of Milton, NY. Dennis is also survived by his sisters Patricia Biggins of Preston, CT, Darcy Lipphardt of Ledyard CT and Sharon Ferrall and her husband Mike Ferrall of Merritt Island FL and his brother Sean Biggins and his wife Tina (Ingram) Biggins of Hilton Head Island, SC, in addition to nieces Maria, Marlene, Stacey, Sarah, and Britney and nephews Aaron, Brandon, Bryan and Brody. Dennis was formerly married to Tena (Granger) Biggins of Voluntown CT. His wife, Sandra Hardy Biggins also died unexpectedly at the Jacksonville home.
The Biggins family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 9am-10:45am, followed by a Funeral Eucharist at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Mystic at 11am. The Rev. Mark Santucci, Rector, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
