Obituary

Mary Newcomb Hennessey, 93, of Wellesley, died January 15, 2007 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jeremiah and Alice (Newcomb) Hennessey.

She was born in Newton in 1913 and has lived in Wellesley since 1957. She was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Women’s Army Corps. She was a licensed Practical Nurse and a retired Medical Assistant for the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.

She was the sister of the late Alice Hood, Elizabeth Fox and Joseph Hennessey. She was the aunt of Peter N. Hood of Needham, Stephen E. Hood of Chelmsford, Richard Hennessy of Charleston, SC and Patrick Hennessey, David Fox and Elizabeth Ann Cole all of California.

Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Friday at 8:00 AM with a funeral mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
