Dartmouth-Helen Linhares died Monday January 15, 2007 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was 94 years. She was the widow of Antone Linhares who died August 30, 2000. She was the mother of Lorraine Correia of Waltham ME., and the late Dorothy Nunes who died last Monday January 8th. She was the sister of Aldina Niedzwiedz of Dartmouth, Dorothy Alegre, Alice Costa both of New Bedford, and the late Josephine Alves. She was the grandmother of 15, and great-grandmother of 22, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Francisco “Frank” Oliveira Silvia and Virginia (Silva) Silvia. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in the laundry department as a presser until her retirement.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday January 19, 2007 at St John the Baptist Church at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery
