Obituary

Robert J. Copson, 61, of Derry, NH, died Monday, January 15, 2007 in his home. Mr. Copson was born in Nashua, NH on August 23, 1945, a son of the late William A. and Gertrude T. (Bruce) Copson. He was a resident of Derry for over 35 years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH. He attended Nashua Sr. High School in Nashua. Mr. Copson was a US Army veteran serving during Vietnam. He had been employed as an assembler for Datamate in Nashua for 22 years, and had also been employed for NE Tanya Finishes. He was most recently employed for Total Packaging Concepts in Derry. Mr. Copson was a life member of the VFW, Post #1617, a member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post #9, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles all of Derry. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed collecting Budweiser items.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Mele) Copson of Derry; one son, Robert J. Copson and wife Kimberly of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren, Austin, Carolyn, and Katelyn; one brother, William Copson and wife Judtih-Ann of Nashua; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 18th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Derry/Salem Home Health & Hospice Services, 1E Commons Dr., Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053 or to the VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.
