E. Bridgewater- Alice E. (Broderick) Battista, 81, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Bridgewater, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 27, 1925, in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary C. (Barrett) Broderick.
Mrs. Battista was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, Class of 1943.
She had been a resident in East Bridgewater for many years, coming from Bridgewater.
Mrs. Battista was a credit manager for J.J. Taylor in Dartmouth for 15 years.
She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Battista was active in the East Bridgewater Senior Citizens Club.
She was the mother of Paul Battista and his wife Donna of Bridgewater; sister of William J. Broderick of Marco Island, FL, and the late Eileen and Helen Broderick; grandmother of Allyson Holland of Hanson; great-grandmother of Abigail Holland. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
her Funeral will be held from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Thursday at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
