Helen F. Rogers, age 88, of Woburn, died January 13th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur W. Rogers. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Poplonge) Kasarige.
Helen was a Woburn resident for nearly seventy years and was a member of Woburn High School's graduating class of 1936. She worked for a number of years at the Mass General Hospital as a young lady. Over the years Helen was mostly devoted to family and also served as a volunteer at the Woburn Senior Citizens Club and also served as the clubs treasurer. Helen also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels Program with Minuteman Home Care and was a member of the Project Council at Minuteman. Prior to her Husband's death in 1989, they enjoyed traveling together. Helen had a strong faith and was an active parishioner and daily communicant of St. Anthony Church for many years.
She is survived by her children, Arthur A. Rogers and his wife Donna of Peabody, Frances Floyd of Asheboro, NC and Carol Rogers of Dover, DE. She is also survived by five Grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
