Obituary

NEPONSET, Miriam R. (Weydt) Livingston, age 78, of Neponset, MA, died late Friday night, January 12, 2007, at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, surrounded by her loving family.
            She was born in Boston on November 5, 1928, daughter of the late Jacobus and Ellen (Hart) Weydt.
            Miriam was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Parish, Neponset, where she and her husband raised their nine children.  Miriam loved spending many hours attending sporting events and musical performances of her children and grandchildren, as well as just sitting down to enjoy a “nice” cup of tea, while sharing news of their latest endeavors.
In 1968 Miriam and her husband bought and ran a successful donut shop in Hingham, MA, which they owned till Larry developed health problem, in 1988.  During this time, she continued to be an inspiration to her children, as she remained active in their lives and activities and continued her own education by taking business courses at night.
 In the years that followed, Miriam spent many happy hours baby-sitting her grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and countless neighborhood children.  She also enjoyed participating in the Channel 2 auction, volunteering for the Boston Marathon, following all Boston Sports, chatting with her neighbors and going to restaurants with her sisters.
The wife of the late Lawrence G. Livingston, who died in 1989, she is survived by nine children, Michael and his wife Susan of Methuen; David and wife Mary of Baltimore, MD; Kevin and his wife Virginia of Mattapan; Marie Gallagher and her husband, Michael, of Easton; Richard of Milton; William and his wife Jean of Brockton, Karen Overton and her husband, Michael, of South Easton; Linda Hastings and her husband, Robert, of Plymouth, and Robert J. and his wife, Helen of Texas; 23 grandchildren, Erin (Marsh), Thomas and Michael; Brianna, Scott and Adam; Kristina, Laura and Victoria; Siobhan and Brendan;. Leigh-Ann and William and Stacie Livingston; Maureen, Patrick, Colleen, Douglas and Kathleen Gallagher, Joshua and Jason Overton and Sara and Trevor Hastings, and Jaclyn as well as 22 great grandchildren, four sisters: Joanne Callanan of Neponset, Alyce Weydt of Neponset, Margie Dubois of Grafton, Carol Weese of Weymouth; two brothers, James Weydt of Weymouth, and Neil Weydt of Dorchester.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Her sister Theresa Brandi predeceased her.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 10 A.M. in St. Ann's Church, Neponset, MA. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, MA. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday 4 - 8 P.M. in the O'Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, MA.
