Joan F. Coffey, 64, of Goffstown, NH, a former resident of Derry, NH died January 12, 2007 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born in Stoneham, MA on January 22, 1942, the daughter of the late George F. and Ethel (Grover) Collins. Raised in Medford, MA, she graduated from Malden Girls Catholic School, class of 1959. She moved to Derry in 1970 and lived there until five years ago. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she provided a warm and loving environment and welcomed everyone into her home. Mrs. Coffey was a former communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry.
IN HER LIFE: She was a woman with a wonderful sense of humor, and was greatly loved, well liked and laughed often. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William F. Coffey of Goffstown; three daughters, Kathy Brady and her husband Mike of Goffstown, Karen Coffey of Derry, and Joanne Tomko and her husband, Joseph of Manchester, NH; 7 grandsons, known as “her little men”, Daniel Brady, Dillon Brady, Bryce Unger, Cameron Tomko, Owen Tomko, Griffin Tomko and Braedan Tomko; also nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Collins in 1982.
Calling hours were on Tuesday, January 16th from 4 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster St. and Hemlock St., Manchester. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice House, 230 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
