Ida M. Cerasale, 88 of Derry, NH died January 11, 2007 in the Haven Healthcare Center, Derry. Mrs. Cerasale was born in Meriden, CT on July 11, 1918 a daughter of Ernesto and Maria (Palluci) DeFlaviis. She was raised and educated in Meriden graduating from Meriden High School Class of 1936. While living in Meriden she was very active in the First Baptist Church. She retired in 1983 from the Unimax Switch Co. in Wallingford, CT and later moved to Derry in 1991.
She is survived by her son, Gerald E. Cerasale and his wife Janine of Manassas, VA, her daughter, Janice J. Burke and her husband Bill of Derry, five grandchildren, Christina Richards, David Cerasale, Kate Theodore, Jennifer Burke and Billy Burke, one great grandson, Sean Richards, her sister, Elia Marchetti of Williamstown, WV, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore R. Cerasale, Jr. in 1995.
Calling hours were Monday January 15th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30pm in First Parish Congregational Church, E. Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Room, P.O. Box 1017, Derry, NH 03038 or to First Parish Congregational Church, c/o Youth Ministry, P.O. Box 114, E. Derry, NH 03041.
