Edith M. “Nonnie” (DiRaffaele) Cataldo, of Medford, died Wednesday at the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 89.
Edith was born and raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late Francisco and the late Anna (Carra) DiRaffaele. She worked for over 25 years at Malden Trust Co. as head bookkeeper. A dedicated wife and mother, Nonnie loved the company of her grandchildren and family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph J. Cataldo. She was a devoted mother to Letitia “Te” Trecartin and her husband Kenneth of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Nicole of Medford, Kelly of Lynn, Kristine of Saugus and the late Katie. She was a dear sister to Richard DiRaffaele and his wife Connie of Melrose, Robert DiRaffaele and his wife Shirley of Wakefield, the late Angelina Russo and John DiRaffaele. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Saturday 7 - 9 and Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 – 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
