James J. Sylligardos, 81, of Weston died January 10, 2007. Jim was for 53 years, the beloved husband of Jeanne (Comeau) Sylligardos.
James was born in Iraklion, Crete on December 31, 1925. He first came to the United States in 1947 to attend Boston University and returned two years later to serve in the Greek navy.
He then continued his studies at BU where he met Jeanne Comeau at the School of Management. They were married in 1953 and lived in Cambridge and Lexington.
He was founder and president of American Industrial Products in Billerica and Precision Parts Company.
A Weston resident for over 35 years, Jim was an avid golfer and a long time member of Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale. He enjoyed gardening and spending time at his residence in Mashpee. He loved classical music and faithfully attended BSO concerts for over 50 years.
He was the devoted father of Susan Sylligardos and her husband, Edmund Chang, of Newton. He is also survived by his sister, Olympia Stassinopoulou of Athens, his brother Emanuel Sylligardos and his wife, Rena, of Crete; and his sister Mary Bostazoglou of Crete. He was the loving grandfather of Alexander N. Sylligardos Chang of Newton and uncle of many nephews and nieces here and in Greece.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt. 16) Wellesley, on Monday January 15, from 5-8 PM. A private graveside service will be held at Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
