Mr. Joseph R. Menna, age 86, of Cambridge formerly of Medford, died January 9th, at the Lawrence General Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of Albertina Menna and the late Theresa (Buonopane) Menna. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Andrew and Julia (Fosso) Menna.
Mr. Menna was a retired electrician and worked for many years at the Charlestown Navy Yard. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Over the years Mr. Menna enjoyed golfing and trout fishing and was also an avid fan of Boston's major sport teams. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
In addition to his late wife, Mr. Menna is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Modugno. He is survived by his daughters; Nancy Macri of North Carolina, Patricia Kelley of Derry, NH and Judith Terrasi of Easton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Macri, Lesley and Robert Hamlin, great grandchildren, Payton and Jack Hamlin. He is further survived by his brothers Salvatore Menna of Medford and Andrew Menna of Belmont.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 5 to 7. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
