SALEM - Kathryn B. (Kornitowski) Predka, age 87, formerly of Salem and Beverly, wife of the late Joseph “Pete” Predka, died Tuesday evening, January 9, 2007, in the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Victor & Maryanna (Zdanowicz) Kornitowski. A graduate of Salem High School in the class of 1936, she was a resident of Salem and Beverly for most of her life.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Predka was employed by GTE Sylvania in Salem, and later worked as a waitress at the Kernwood Country Club.
She was a past Commander of the DAV Woman’s Auxiliary, Chapter 84 in Salem.
Mrs Predka is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas & Eileen Predka of Peabody, Peter Predka of Salt Lake City Utah, one daughter & son-in-law, Paula & John Faretra of Kent, Washington, 4 grandchildren, Keith Fareta, Kim-Marie Hewson, Kristen Predka and Marc Pdredka, one brother, Bernard Kornitowski of El Segundo, CA, one sister, Angela Hull of Salem and several nieces and nephews,
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Friday, 6 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in North Beverly Cemetery.
