WORCESTER___Henry Sokol, 82, of Worcester, died suddenly Saturday, January 6, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His wife of forty-three years, Stephania (Stoklosa) Sokol died in 1994.
He leaves two sons, Stan P. Sokol and his wife, Lucilla, of Penacook, N.H. and Thaddeus A. Sokol and his wife Karen of Barre; seven grandchildren, Henry, Elisabeth and Andrew of Penacook; Heather of Barre; Caroline of Phoenix, AZ., Thaddeus, Jr., of Las Vegas, NV., and Christina of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, Raymond of Barre and Brieanna of Las Vegas. He was born in Poland, son of Stanislaw and Anna (Misterka) Sokol, and was one of thirteen children. He has lived in Worcester since 1963.
Mr. Sokol retired from Anderson Co. in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Henry was an avid gardener.
The funeral will be held on Friday January 12 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday January 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
