Eleanor G. (Morgan) Corliss died Saturday January 6th in the Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of 64 years to Herbert G. Corliss.
Born in Whitman daughter of John O. and Faustina (Mellor) Morgan she was a graduate of Whitman High School and a lifelong resident of the town.
Eleanor worked as a bookkeeper for TL McGrath Oil Company and was a member of the All Saints Church of Whitman, Eastern Star Pilgrim Chapter 89, Hanson Tri-town Lions Club and the Mattakesett 158.
Along with being an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, she loved bowling, knitting, crocheting, bingo and traveling.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Richard Lee Corliss of Dartmouth, Herbert G. Corliss III of Whitman, William D. Corliss of Foxboro, Marsha L. Corliss of Hanson, Jacqueline Ann Frazier of Yarmouthport, Eleanor G. Baker of E. Dennis, Janice E. Churchill of Onset, and Donna J. Churchill of New Portland, ME. She was also the mother of the late Annette Marie Corliss. She is survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Her funeral will be held Friday January 12th at 11:00 AM in the All Saints Church, Park Ave, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be Thursday January 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte 58 @ the Rotary Circle) Whitman.
