Atty. Anthony M. “Tony” Fredella, 73 of Merrimac died Saturday at the home he lovingly built after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved wife at his side. He was surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends he treasured.
Born in Boston, he lived in Merrimac for the past year and fomerly of Andover. Anthony practiced law for over 35 years with his firm Fredella and Wheeler formerly in Somerville. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and Boston College Law School. Anthony was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Justinian Law Society. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Tony loved to travel and spend time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Jane Denahey. Devoted father of Jennifer Foster and her husband Jack of Pawtucket, RI, Andrea Bertonazzi and her husband Brian of Southboro, David Fredella and his wife Sally of Methuen, Christine Harrington and her husband Robert of Haverhill, Paul Fredella and his wife Ann of Newbury, VT, Ron Denahey and his wife Nicole of Nashua, NH, Christopher Fredella and his wife Martha of Worcester, Sharon Denahey of Merrimacport. Also survived by 19 loving grandchildren. Cherished son of Jennie (Vella) of Medford and the late Lorenzo Fredella. Brother of Frank Fredella of Woburn, Phyllis Cain of Reading, Josephine Gagnon of Methuen, Eleanor Alcorn of Essex, VT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
