Geraldine A. (Philben) Sheldon, 73, of Deltona, Florida formerly of Mansfield died on Saturday January 6, 2007 at the Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida. She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Sheldon to whom she was wed to for the past 51 years.
Born in Boston, MA on January 10, 1933 she was a loving daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth (McDougal) Philben, Sr.
She grew up in South Boston and was educated in Boston schools. Mrs. Sheldon was a retired Inspector having worked for the former Bay State Tap and Die Co. in Mansfield for 23 years prior to retirement.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the lake Catholic Church in Deltona and was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She enjoyed traveling and visiting the Caribbean’s and South Pacific Islands. She had lived in Deltona for the past 15 years and was a former resident of Mansfield for many years.
In addition to her beloved husband she is survived by her devoted children Geraldine A. Carpentier and her husband Richard of Deltona, Florida, Paul J. Sheldon, Sr. and his wife Phyllis of Mansfield and Donna M. Sullivan and her husband Leo of Ash Fork, Arizona. Her brother Martin Philben, Jr of East Bridgewather. Her loving grandchildren Paul J. Sheldon, Jr., Shannon L. Sheldon and John Sheldon. and her great grandson Nicholas William Kelcourse. She was the mother of the late Sandra Jean Sheldon and was the sister of the late Claire and Marie.
Her funeral mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday January 11th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
