Obituary

Anthony Louis Cerino, 45, died January 5th at his home in Lords Point after a courageous battle with ALS. Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Kodman Cerino and their cherished children, Tony, Jimmy, and Lauren.

Tony will be sadly missed by his parents Joseph and Barbara Cerino of South Kingston Rhode Island, his sister Barbara and her husband Kevin of Shelton, brother Joseph and his wife Kathy of Higganum, and Grandfather Anthony Louis of Stratford. Tony is predeceased by his loving brother Raymond. Tony is also survived by his parents-in-law Val and Barbara Kodman of Wallingford CT, sister-in-law Valerie Kodman and brothers-in law George Contos and James Kodman and his wife Paula, in addition to nephews Joseph, Raymond and Aaron and nieces Meghan, Kristen and Holly. Tony had many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Tony worked as an environmental editor for Business and Legal Reports, in Old Saybrook. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and Shelton High School.

Tony treasured watching his sons play hockey for the SouthEastern Connecticut Seahawks, where he had been actively involved and a member of the board. He also loved to watch his sons play baseball with Pawcatuck Little League, where he helped coach both his sons’ teams.

Tony also loved living in Lord’s Point. Tony enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming and scuba diving.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 2pm-4:45pm, A service will be conducted at 5pm and a reception for family and friends will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cerino Children’s Education Fund in care of Citizens Bank, 23 Broadway CT-082, Mystic, CT 06355, or to the ALS Association, 4 Oxford Rd Unit D1, Milford, CT 06460.

** POST SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT **

Over 300 relatives and friends attended Tony's visitation and service Tuesday where memorabilia of his beloved New York Rangers and other teams where displayed, as well as many wonderful photo memories and slideshows of his life.

The Rev. Victoria Burdick, Hospice Chaplain, led the brief service which included special tributes by Tony's brother, Joe.

A reception followed at The Mystic Hilton.
