Caroline M. Saccardo a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Friday January 5, 2007 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, following a lengthy illness. She was 96 years old.
Caroline was born and raised in Charlestown. She attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. Caroline worked for many years as a clerk for a retail store in Boston.
Caroline is the beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Antonina (Parisi) Saccardo. She is the devoted sister of Sadie Saccardo and the late Steven, Leo, Guy, Larry, Salvatore and Christine Saccardo. She is the loving aunt of Francis Saccardo and great-aunt of Jeanne Thibault, Michael Saccardo, Cristin Pugliesi and Dyan Romero, Caroline is the dear sister-in-law of Daurice Saccardo.
Caroline's Funeral will be held on Monday January 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Caroline will be held on Sunday January 7, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
