Obituary

Patrick T. Fahey, a Medford Police Officer and teacher of Medford’s DARE Program died suddenly Wednesday evening. He was 40.


Born and raised in Medford, Pat graduated from the Medford Vocational School in 1984. He served on the Medford Park Police and Special Police before his appointment to the Medford Police Department in 1997. A hardworking and dedicated officer, Patrick was admired by people throughout the community. His care and concern for the youth of Medford made him especially suitable to teach in Medford’s DARE program in the public and parochial schools. In 2005 he received the DARE “Officer of the Year” Award. Patrick was a member of the Mass. Irish American Police Officers Assoc., Mass. Police Patrolman’s Assoc. and the DARE Officers Assoc. Patrick has touched the lives of many through his life and work and will be missed by all.


He was the beloved husband of Linda (Talbot) Fahey. He was the devoted son of Thomas J. and Teresa (Canfield) Fahey. He was a loving brother to Michael Fahey and his wife Civita of Medford, Mary Kate Little and her husband Steve of Tewksbury, William Fahey and his wife Chris of Medford. He was a cherished uncle and godfather to Chrysten Fahey and uncle to Cameron Fahey and Jake Little.


His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.


Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Sunday, 4 – 8.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Patrick´s name to the Medford Police DARE program, 100 Main St., Medford, MA 02155.
