Obituary

Callahan-Paul P. of Malden passed away at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett on January 3rd, 2007. He was 77 . He was the beloved husband of Margaret T. (Walsh) Callahan ; father of Maureen Dion and her husband John of Melrose, Paul P. Callahan Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Buffalo, NY, Richard Callahan and his wife Linda of Malden, Carolann Ouellette and her husband Raymond of Malden and Kathleen Koch and her husband John of New Ashford; the grandfather of John Jr., Ryan, Brandon, Anthony, Adam, Christopher, Daniel, Paul III, Joshua, Benjamin and Annie and the brother of Mae Beaton of Malden and the late William and Edward Callahan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was Born in Malden on July 1, 1929 and was a life long resident of Malden. He is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Boston College. Paul was a school teacher at the Forestdale Elementary school in Malden where he also earned the position of Assistant Principal. Later he moved on to teach at the Browne Junior High School in Malden and the Roberts Junior High School in Medford. He retired as a History and Civics teacher at Medford High School. Paul served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He extended his duty by remaining in the USMC reserves for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post and the VFW in Malden. He was a life-long parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden and an avid fan of the Boston College Eagles. Funeral services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Saturday Jan. 6th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 10:30 AM. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Autism Society of America, 7910 Woodmont Ave., Suite 300, Bethesda, MD 20814-3067.
