Eva G. (Esteves) Machado, 66, of New Bedford died Tuesday January 2, 2007 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of João B. Machado.
Born in Terceira, Azores, the daughter of the late Raul and Mariana (Martins-Gil) Esteves, she lived in the Azores before moving to New Bedford 38 years ago.
She enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, John Machado, Jr., Joseph Machado and Alonso Machado, all of New Bedford; two daughters, Maria DeFatima Machado and Lizette Silva, and her husband John , all of New Bedford; three brothers, John Esteves of Florida, Joe Esteves of Greenwich, RI and Antonio Esteves of Pawtucket, RI; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alonso Esteves and Liliana Esteves.
Funeral from the the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, January 6th at 8 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at Mt. Carmel Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, January 5th from 6-8 PM.
