Kathleen A. Sunny, 62, of Lisbon, passed away Tuesday at Hartford Hospital after injuries she sustained in an automobile accident on December 16, 2006.
Kathy was the broker/owner of Shelter Shoppe Realty in Lisbon for the past 27 years.
In her spare time, Kathie enjoyed her 2nd home on Conneaut Lake, PA.
She was born in New Brighton, PA on August 4, 1944 the daughter of Dolores McKeel of Lisbon and the late Alvin McKeel.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Robyn and son-in-law Daniel Beachy of Gales Ferry, Darla and son-in-law Sean Carmack of Lisbon, Donald Sunny of Griswold, and Jennifer and son-in-law Michael Landry of Lisbon; 7 grandchildren, Larisa and Kellee Beachy, Daniel and Brian Carmack, and Cassidy, Olivia and Madelyn Landry. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Nanci and brother-in-law Gary Russell of Gales Ferry.
Kathie also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family which includes the incredible friendships she made throughout her life. Her woman’s best friend. “MacDaddy” who endured the accident with her, will also miss her greatly.
In addition to her father, Kathie was predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Sunny Sr. and her much loved brother, Kenneth P. McKeel.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 1pm-1:45pm (these times were incorrect on The Norwich Bulletin's website on Thursday morning). A Funeral Service will follow at 2pm.
Her immediate family will gather privately for burial at Patchaug Cemetery, Griswold.
