FAIRHAVEN -- Earl B. Fisher of Fairhaven died Friday, December 22, 2006, at home following an optimistic fight with cancer. He was the husband of Merrill (Branaman) Fisher, to whom he was married for 53 years.
He was born in New Bedford and lived in Fairhaven his entire life except for the time he served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II. He was the third son of the late Paul L. Fisher and Lettie (Jenney) Fisher.
He worked at Calvin Clothing Company for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1987. He was a 50-plus year member of the George H. Taber Lodge of Masons, Fairhaven, MA, as well as a long-time member of the Fairhaven Royal Arch Chapter of Masons, serving as high priest in 1974-75. He was also a member of New Bedford Council, R and S Masters, as well as a member of Suttom Commandery, Knights Templar.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother, Dr. Paul L. Fisher of Columbia, Missouri; his niece, Mrs. Carley G. Israel of Columbia, Missouri; his nephews, Paul Fisher of Harwich and Stanley F. Sadowski of Chapin, SC; and his cousin, Faith J. Senecal of North Dartmouth.
He was the brother of Carlton L. Fisher who was killed early in the invasion of Normandy.

His graveside service will take place in River-side Cemetery in Fairhaven on Tuesday, January 9th at 11 A.M. Arrangements are with the Wilson Chapel, 479 County Street in New Bedford
