METHUEN, MA – Mary J. (Bergeron) Lemay Rackliffe, age 97 died Saturday December 30, 2006 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Born on November 23, 1909 in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie Louise (Castonguay) Bergeron. She was educated in Methuen School, was an active volunteer at the Methuen Senior Center, was an attendant of St. Monica’s Church. Her family said she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. For many years she worked as a waitress at Lane’s Diner in Methuen and also in the local mills.
The widow of her first husband Arthur Lemay and second husband, Charles A. Rackliffe, she is survived by 1 son Francis J. Lemay and his wife Claire of Manchester, NH.
1 step son Charles M. Rackliffe of Davenport, FL.
3 sisters Rose Mancini of Harwich, MA, Marcelle Baldwin of Methuen, MA and Jacqueline DePonte of San Antonio, TX.
5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Elder Services 360 Merrimack Street BLDG 5 Lawrence, MA 01843. At the request of the family there are no calling hours. Funeral Mass will at 9:00a.m. at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will take place at a later date at the families convenience.
