Ethel E. (Peterson) DiRienzo, 97, died at the Braemoor Nursing & Rehab. Center in Brockton on Monday, January 1 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Angelo DiRienzo. Born in Hyde Park, she was educated in Hyde Park Schools and graduated from Henry Grew High School. She was a resident of Brockton for 22 years after living in Wareham and West Roxbury for several years. Mrs. DiRienzo was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox, crossword puzzles, crocheting and needlepoint.
Mrs. DiRienzo is survived by her daughters, Marie Rutter and her husband Jack of NC and Dolores Amoroso and her husband Alfred of Brockton as well as her siblings, Eunice Tosi of Norwood, Elsie Grayson on Kingston and Charles Peterson of FL and her son-in-law, Ainello Falco of Medford. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her children, Charles DiRienzo and his wife Joan, June Falco and Bette DiRienzo.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 4 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Ethel‘s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
