WESTFORD-Anita Gertrude Gavlik, 84, a resident of Westford and formerly a longtime resident of Dracut , died Sunday, December 31st in Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife, for over 25 years, of the late Julius J. Gavlik who died in 1969.
She was born on June 7, 1922 a daughter of the late Edward and the late Alexina (Vaillancourt) Descoteaux.
Mrs. Gavlik was employed as a stitcher in Lowell and later she worked as a home health aide.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by two sisters, Rita Chartier of Westford and Lillian Talmer of Lowell; many nephews and nieces including Ted Gaudette and his wife Suzanne of Dunstable, MA.
She was also the sister of the late Frank, the late Irene and the late Claire; and was the beloved sister-in-law of the late Laura and Ted Gaudette, the late Irene and Perry Bentley, the late Loretta and Frederick Gavlik, the late Helen and Henry Gavlik the late Alice and Carl Gavlik, the late Pauline and Jake Gavlik and the late Patricia and John Flaherty.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM with a funeral service at 7:30 PM during the calling hours. A spring time burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
