Antonio P. “Sparky” Costa, of Reading, formerly of Medford, died Saturday at the Winchester Hospital. He was 94.
Born in Boston and raised in Medford, he was the son of Antonio and Maria (Coscia) Costa. Mr. Costa worked most of his life as a self-employed painter. He lived most of his life in Medford until moving to Reading 10 years ago.
He was the beloved husband of Gwendolyn P. (Mattson) Costa. He was a devoted father to Betty Costa of New York City, Lorraine Scola and her husband Richard of Medford, Paul Costa and his wife Paula of Reading. He was a loving grandfather to Michelle, Richard, Gary, Stephanie, Jennifer, Paul, Rachel and loving great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday at
9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
