Mrs. Marie C. Luongo, age 84, died Thursday, December 28, 2006, in Medford at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Etta (Amato) & Nicholas Albano. Marie has been a Medford resident for the last 52 years, formerly of the North End of Boston where she was born and raised.
One of the things Marie enjoyed was shopping. Her late husband Ernest would drive her and she would shop for hours while he stayed in the car. She loved to entertain at her home, where she would talk for hours over coffee and cake. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her loving grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest Luongo Sr. , her devoted sons Robert Luongo and Ernest Luongo Jr. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Susan Luongo of Medford. Loving grandmother of Juliann Luongo of Somerville, Anthony Luongo and his wife Michelle of Medford, Robert Luongo and his wife Stacy of Montana. Loving great grandmother of Vanessa, Katie, Justin and Alex all of Montana. Sister of Norma Gioia of Revere, Claire Fillipone of Peabody the late Rose Pisano and William Albano.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday, at 10 : 30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Wednesday from 9 - 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
