Mario J. Martins, of Medford, formerly of Somerville, died suddenly Thursday at Whidden Memorial Hospital. He was 48.
Born in Portugal and raised in Somerville, Mario was the son of the late Jose and Isaura Martins. Mario graduated from Somerville High and attended Merrimac College. He worked as a printer with Merrill Corp. in Everett.
He was the beloved husband of Maria (Napolitano) Martins. He was the devoted father of Tiffany, Mario, Jr., and Joey Martins all of Medford. He was a dear brother to Ida Cabral of Framingham, Suzel Costa, Fernanda Secher both of Buzzards Bay, Manuella Skillings of Revere. He was the brother-in-law of Gary and Denise Grosse and son-in-law of Michael and Marie Napolitano. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
