Schmitt, III, and his wife Mary of Nashua, NH, Kerry Scott and her husband Robert of Southold, NY, Matthew Schmitt and his wife Lisa of Bourne, and Timothy Schmitt and his wife Carolyn of Charlestown, SC. Also survived by 21 grandchildren. Loving brother of Joan McCafferty and her husband David of Pittsburgh, PA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, an Attorney at Law in private practice for 50 years. Creator of the office of public prosecutor in the 4th District Court of Plymouth County serving as Prosecutor for more than 30 years. Former Town Counsel for the town of Wareham. Active member of St. Rita’s Parish for more than 40 years serving as Lector, Eucharistic Minister and on Parish Council. Active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal leading numerous prayer, teaching and healing ministries. A Korean War Veteran serving as 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.
