Obituary

Ralph Frasca Jr., of Roslindale passed away on December 28, 2006 at the Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. He was 82. He was the loving husband of Ruth (Copson) Frasca.

Mr. Frasca was born in Boston and was the son of the late Ralph and Clementina (Grilli) Frasca. He grew up in the Roslindale section of the city and graduated from Roslindale High School. He was a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran and served over seas in Normandy, Northern France and Germany. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with three service stars.

Mr. Frasca was a longtime Boston Herald Employee and worked at the newspaper until his retirement. He also volunteered at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury. He was a member of the Dedham American Legion, Post 18 in Dedham.

He was the devoted father of Jean Murphy of Dedham, the late Stephen Frasca of Ayer, Janice Frasca of Roslindale, Ralph Frasca III of West Roxbury and William Frasca of Attleboro. He was the brother of the late Anthony Frasca of Dedham and Robert Frasca of Dedham. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., #5, Boston, MA 02210.
