Ruth V. Hess, 84, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, December 28 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Saturday, December 30, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Interment will follow in Frank Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Hess was born October 23, 1922, in Libertyville, Illinois to the late Walter L. and Agnes Tavernier Nagel. A former resident of Irwin County, she was a homemaker and lived in Fitzgerald since 1979 from Mundelein, Illinois. While she was in Illinois, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Lawrence Kelly. Mrs. Hess was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hess is survived by her daughter: Debby Gaff of Fitzgerald; sons: William J. Hess of Trevor, WI and Samuel F. Hess of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren along with a sister: Betty Mitchell of Pensacola, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace J. Hess, sister Charlotte Bair and brother, Walter L. Nagel, Jr.
