Marie M. (Morrissey) Cronin, 91, of Chatham formerly of Dedham, died December 27, 2006 at Avery Manor in Needham. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Cronin.
Mrs. Cronin was born in Hyde Park and was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (McEntee) Morrissey. She was a resident of both Chatham and Dedham for many years. She was an avid golfer and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Trust Department of the Hale & Door Law Firm of Boston.
She is survived by two sisters, A. Patricia Flaherty of Dedham and Margaret E. Barrett of Walpole. She also leaves five nephews, Chuck Flaherty of Billerica, Richard C. Hawes of Tigard, OR, Michael Morrissey of Rockmart, GA, Steven Hawes of Mansfield and David Hawes of Easton. She was the sister of the late Peter C. Morrissey and Claire Hawes.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at 8:00 AM. Followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
