J. Raymond Cyr of Slatersville, RI and Largo, FL a retired Neon Glass Artisan died Monday December 25, 2006 at St. Antoine Residence.
He was the beloved husband of Muriel (Peloquin) Cyr. Born in N. Providence, a son of the late William and Josephine (Letourneau) Cyr, he had lived in N. Smithfield since 1981, previously living in Lincoln and Block Island.
Mr. Cyr had worked for many years at Mandeville Sign Co. and Mello Sign Co. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and a member of the Largo VFW Post # 9643. Mr. Cyr was a Communicant of S. John the Evangelist Church in Slatersville and St. Catherine Sienna Church in Largo FL. His interests included golfing, fishing, bowling and playing with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children Kevin J. Falardeau of S. Kingston, Madonna L. Atteridge of Harrisville, Doreen A. Richard and Sheila M. Scotto both of Pascoag, he was the brother of George Cyr of E. Providence, Rita Gilleran of Lincoln, and Albea Lamson of Gahanna, OH.
He will be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St. Slatersville.
Burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. N. Smithfield, RI 02896 in his memory would be appreciated.
