Obituary

Mr. Fred C. Raskin of Andover, formerly of Rhode Island, died at home with his beloved wife, Lorraine, and his children, Elizabeth and Alex, by his side on December 15, 2006. He was 58 years old.
Mr. Raskin graduated cum laude from Syracuse University in 1970 with a degree in accounting, and in 1973 received a law degree from New York University Law School. He spent the majority of his career with Eastern Enterprises of Weston, Massachusetts, starting out as general counsel, ultimately becoming president and COO. After Eastern was sold to the KeySpan Corporation in 2000, Mr. Raskin was selected as the CEO of the Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority. Mr. Raskin was also a lecturer at Boston University and an adjunct professor at Merrimack College in North Andover.
Mr. Raskin was involved in many professional and civic entities including: Vice Chairman and Chairman Elect, National Waterways Conference; Immediate past Chairman, American Waterways Operators Association; Trustee, Greater Boston Diabetes Society; Member, Boston Heart Foundation; Member, Syracuse University School of Management Advisory Committee; and Weinfeld Associate, New York University School of Law.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover. Relatives and friends are welcome.
